New state for non-active TCs: "watch list" TC are under supervision before making them inactive. Important: lack of web activity does not imply no activity and vice versa. Example activities of other TCs: publish meetings, workshops, publications, books…
TC in Planning and Control: We are generally doing well specially with respect to the short duration of our existence. The large number of members and active web page were mentioned.
Searching for somebody to manage the TC in agriculture.
TC on networked robots is being shut down.
Discussion: Is there research in Roboethics?
Name change from "Young professional lunch" to "GOLD": Graduates of the last decade.
Looking for people to be IEEE lectures in Africa.
RAS field of Interest Statement: establish the difference between robotics and the automation. Summary: robotics includes the notion intelligence while automation is restricted to, well, automating things.
Future tasks for the TC (Danika’s idea): It was proposed to involve the TCs in the preparation of the papers sessions of conferences. This would help to have better specificity of papers in a particular session. This has to be done once the authors are notified the acceptance of the papers.
Another idea was that each TC had a CD with a summary of the interesting things in the conference. This was under discussion and no conclusions.
It was strongly suggested to introduce young people in the chairs of the TCs. Specially in those TCs with very busy chairmen. This is to assure assistance, activity, involvement and to push other TCs to do the same.
